Traveling is one of the most challenging activities when you are committed to a health program. Unfortunately, our society does not support healthy eating. For example, poor-quality fast food establishments offer only prepackaged processed foods at convenient stops along the highways. Once you arrive at your destination, the plethora of chain restaurants can make you dizzy with all the precooked and preformulated meals. While recovering, I was not even free to consider such choices. I was committed to a year of staying on my recovery path. During that year my health improved enough to travel. I got pretty experienced at maneuvering my travel food and around a restaurant menu. What do I eat when I travel? How do I stay on my program while I vacation? What do I eat when eating out in restaurants? These are the most common questions I get asked regularly. In this 1 hour lecture, I will address how to travel and maintain your health. I will give tips and guidance on how to manage to eat healthy while staying in hotels, traveling by car, and eating out at restaurants. There is no reason a well-needed vacation should sabotage your health and the healthy habits you have painstakingly established. Join me on Wednesday, July 19th, at 10:30 am for a show-and-tell interactive class. In-person or streaming is $25/person |
